I am a Partner in the Menzies Deal Advisory team focused on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) helping and advising clients on all matters relating to buying and selling businesses on transactions between £3m – £75 million.

I help my clients to structure, negotiate and fund transactions, providing them with proactive advice to ensure transactions run smoothly and achieve the outcome they desire.

I have been able to help my clients complete some great transactions exceeding their expectations both in terms of price and timing. In one particular transaction, our client, having agreed a great price, was selling to a large Private Equity firm and wanted to complete the deal in 6 weeks. Although the business had not been prepared for sale, we were able to support them in managing the Due Diligence exercise in a very tight timescale, handling detailed scrutiny from a big four firm and their teams in the UK and US. On another transaction, the head room we structured within the funding enabled the business to endure severe headwinds and subsequently achieve phenomenal growth. Providing clients with proactive advice, planning ahead and paying attention to detail during negotiations has been at the heart of our team’s success.

I really enjoy the variety of businesses we work with, helping clients achieve their objectives and seeing them prosper – the tangible outcomes achieved are really rewarding. Outside of work, having grown up in the countryside, I love growing things on my allotment and being outside walking with family and friends, enjoying the fresh air and the views.
