Our award-winning training programme is geared towards expanding your accountancy job and career choices.
Accountancy training and qualifications
All of our ACA (Chartered Accountant) trainees work in small client assignment teams of three or four people. As you progress, you will be given more responsibility, so that by your second year, for example, you will already be supervising other trainees.
Our AAT (Accounting Technician) and ATT (Tax Technician) trainees have early exposure to client work, performing an essential role in support of accountants and tax advisors, to meet their clients’ needs.
We pay all the costs towards your professional exams. This includes training courses, manuals, textbooks and examination fees for first sitting. Whilst you are studying for your professional qualification, you will provided with paid study leave to attend courses and exams, and we pay for your training manuals and textbooks for the first sitting, this is in addition to your 23.5 days annual holiday.
We help you develop your people and management skills as much as your technical ones.
“I achieved first time passes as an ACA with Menzies’ support. I’ve also gained a variety of experience working in accounts and Audit on both corporate and owner managed business clients ranging from £500K -£110m. This allowed me to learn, grow and gain fast track promotion to manager within 5 years. I achieved this whilst having two maternity leaves, assisted by the remarkable work-life balance and support which Menzies is renowned.”
Sabba Asif, Audit Manager
“Transitioning from my degree in Modern Languages to Accountancy was a daunting prospect. However, guidance from my team and the Menzies Trainee Academy developed my confidence in applying new concepts to real life situations, and this helped me achieve exam success throughout the ACA.
By completing the ACA Graduate Programme with Menzies, working as part of both the audit and accounts teams, I have developed a wide range of skills. With relevant training and support, I have learned to
balance working full time and completing challenging exams, developed good client relationships and gained
technical knowledge allowing me to give professional advice.”
Molly Grozier, Assistant Manager
“My People Manager and team support me in my development and provide me with guidance on new areas of my role. This helps me feel more confident and capable of doing my job effectively and enables my knowledge to grow whilst on the job.
Support is also offered through the Menzies Trainee Academy where we are given guidance on exam techniques and handling the pressures of working and studying simultaneously.
The opportunity to work with colleagues at various levels has enabled me to understand how problems can be tackled in different ways and to be commercial when providing advice.”
Rutvik Patel, Private client Tax Senior
