With over twenty-five years’ experience as an auditor at Menzies, my focus is split across 2 specialisms, primarily the charities and not-for-profit sector and secondly advising international groups.
Charities & not-for-profit
I work with a variety of clients within the sector, from education to medical and museums to the local community. Alongside audit and assurance, typical assignments within the Charity and Not for Profit sector can include regulatory and best practice reviews, recommendations on structure for compliance and wider sector specific advisory.
I have significant experience of advising international groups and medium-sized privately-owned businesses, giving me the opportunity to provide a high level of advice to clients especially those with audits and more complex matters, including IFRS-compliant and AIM-listed companies. I have also worked closely with the International Inbound sector advising clients looking to move into the UK market.
Having spent 6 years as the firm’s Technical Director, the move back to a client-facing role gave me the opportunity to provide a high level of advice to clients, especially those with audits and more complex matters, including IFRS compliance and AIM listed companies.
I also provide business advisory services to fast growing businesses. I joined Menzies in 1994, qualified in 1999 and became a director in 2007.
It would have to be a sports teacher, due to my love of playing and watching sports.
My favourite meal
Has to be a good Indian takeaway – but having moved recently, I’m still on the hunt for the elusive good local curry house!
