About
I am a Tax Partner at Menzies where I head up the Innovation and R&D team, a specialism responsible for generating significant tax reliefs for its clients, including those operating in both the manufacturing and technology sectors. With over 15 years’ experience advising corporate clients and owner managed businesses, helping them to mitigate tax through commercial tax planning, I have a passion for ensuring businesses benefit from the significant tax advantages available under the R&D tax reliefs and Patent Box regimes.
I have been fortunate to have many great experiences in my time at Menzies, having joined as a trainee and been with the Firm for nearly 20 years. I am immensely proud to have qualified as both a chartered accountant and tax advisor, been a finalist in the Tolley’s Taxation Awards for the Taxation Rising Star award and progressed to become a Partner in a fantastic Firm which lives and breathes it’s BrighterThinking approach.
I set up our Innovation and R&D specialism which was a finalist in the Tolley’s Tax Awards for Best Specialist Team in 2022. Our team has helped many businesses benefit from tax reliefs which have played a vital role in driving important R&D. One specific example is a drug discovery company we have worked with for over 10 years, achieving over £50m in R&D and Patent Box tax reliefs which has helped fund their important research into cancer treatments.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and two children. I am passionate about sports and while my body doesn’t really stand up to my favourite sport of football, I am now a keen runner, whether this be Parkrun every Saturday or races throughout the year. I am a huge NFL fan and New York Giants supporter, so much so that my son is named after the future hall of famer Eli Manning.
