Our service approach
Our experts have vast experience in assessing the quantum of losses across a wide variety of dispute contexts. We can help you to understand the damages and losses suffered and provide a financial value on this, based on the evidence available and in conjunction with our experience and expertise of similar cases.
Our quantum experts enable parties to understand the likely range of losses in any dispute and aid settlement, if that is what a claimant or defendant wants. If the dispute progresses, we can provide a Civil Procedure Rule (or equivalent arbitral rules) compliant expert witness report or reports, either assessing losses or responding to opposition expert reports. We are very familiar with the process of meeting with other experts, holding joint meetings, producing joint statements on the quantum of losses, and giving evidence under oath, including being cross-examined on reports quantifying loss and damage.
Types of damages and losses
we have quantified as quantum experts and expert witnesses include:
- Loss of earnings claim in cases of breach of contract, where we assess both immediate and future impacts on income.
- Loss of earnings in relation to an employment dispute, particularly focusing on career disruption and compensation owed.
- Unpaid contractual amounts and associated interest.
- Share valuation or business following alleged unfair prejudice to a minority shareholder.
- Share valuation, business valuation and/or quantum of damages following a breach of warranty.
- Losses arising from fraud and embezzlement.
- Calculating the quantum of losses associated with loss of business value or share value due to misappropriation of assets.
