Charlotte Langdon | Audit & Assurance Director
I’ve worked in 4 Menzies offices in 12 years, and I still love it.
What’s your Menzies story?
I started my Menzies journey at Woking as an ACA trainee, moving to London when qualified as an audit senior for a year. My career then took a swerve and I moved into the Audit Technical Team for 3 years covering all offices and being the conduit of technical excellence to all offices and Audit colleagues. I then moved to Farnborough, back to client facing work as Audit Manager, moving through ranks to Director as I stand today. As a sign of Menzies’ committed family friendly approach, I achieved my promotion to Director just before my second maternity leave.
Freedom to move offices for new opportunities
Working at 4 different Menzies offices has given me really good exposure to the Menzies culture across the Firm. I’ve moved each time for a new opportunity, but each move has been something that was prompted by my manager at the time. They identified that I was ready for a new challenge at the same time I was considering whether I needed one. It is unusual to have worked at so many Menzies offices, but each move had a place in my career and helped me with the next challenge.
What do you love about working at Menzies?
I love the challenge of our clients and the work, and the feeling of being supported and looked out for by my colleagues. I know people in every office having worked at most of them, so I feel like I can walk into any office, and it is not weird, and feel welcomed. I like the people I work with! And I feel that I can be myself around everyone. Every time I have felt like I need a change, it’s been thought about before I’ve said anything, and I have been approached to explore a new role. That’s a sure sign that people notice and think about what is best for the person and the Firm, not just the Firm.
