About
I am a business tax director, with particular focus and expertise advising on the tax implications and structuring of corporate reconstructions, mergers, acquisitions and disposals.
I work with and advise a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses, large corporates and high net worth individuals on a regular and ad hoc basis, helping them meet their business and personal objectives in a tax efficient manner, through the provision of proactive and commercially focused advice.
I take a practical and empathetic approach to providing tax advice, and am enthusiastic about helping clients navigate the complex tax and commercial issues that often arise in corporate transactions. I take pleasure in gaining an understanding and appreciation of their underlying objectives, visions and priorities and implementing restructuring solutions that meet those objectives in a tax efficient manner.
I am qualified as a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Adviser, and though it feels like a distant memory, I was a prize winner in the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CTA) Advisory paper on Owner Managed Businesses.
As well as supporting clients, I am keenly involved in a number of Menzies’ sustainability projects, including as a representative on our ‘Green Committee’. I have also been a champion of Menzies’ Make a Difference Week since its inception, which has provided an opportunity to engage with various initiatives pertinent to conservation in the local area.
Outside of work, I fill my spare time mainly reading and writing fiction.
Please give me a call or send me an email if you are considering any kind of acquisition, disposal or restructuring, or if it would be helpful to discuss the effectiveness of your existing business structure.
