About
My career started when I joined the Royal Air Force, where I spent 13 years in a support role, mainly in Personnel and Administration. On leaving with the rank of Sergeant, I took a year out to study full-time for my Post-Graduate degree in Personnel Management. I spent five years working in the NHS, joining as an Assistant Personnel Officer and leaving as a Human Resource Manager; I made the decision to move into the private sector.
In November 1997 I joined I joined SAIC Ltd, initially providing generalist HR service to staff based in England and Wales and since May 2000 I have been a member of the HR Management Team. My role meant that I have had to deal with many complex issues, including redundancies and dismissal of senior managers, Grievances, Disciplinary and sickness absence management.
I have worked as part of a due diligence team for a joint venture with ScottishPower where approximately 600 staff were TUPE transferred into a joint venture then one year later into a wholly owned subsidiary. My key strength is the ability to quickly build a rapport with both managers and staff.
