As a Director in the Restructuring and Insolvency team at Menzies LLP, I support businesses, stakeholders, and advisers through periods of financial uncertainty, helping them make informed decisions about recovery, restructuring, or closure. With over 28 years’ experience in corporate insolvency, I’ve led a wide range of appointments, from distressed trading entities to complex cross-border liquidations, delivering commercially sound outcomes while safeguarding stakeholder interests.
I lead a team based in our London office and take a hands-on approach to complex assignments, often involving sensitive negotiations, creditor pressure, or competing priorities. Whether advising company directors, lenders, or professional intermediaries, I bring clarity to challenging situations and build trust through open, calm, and solution-focused communication.
My background spans both technical insolvency work and operational leadership. I’ve played a key role in aligning systems, streamlining core processes, and integrating team cultures following a significant firm merger. This combination of strategic insight and technical depth allows me to optimise delivery while focusing on value, risk, and client experience.
One of my proudest achievements was leading the insolvency of a business employing over 300 staff. Working closely with directors, advisers, and creditors, I helped stabilise operations, preserve value, and deliver a positive creditor outcome, all under intense regulatory and operational pressure. I’m equally proud of having mentored professionals from entry-level through to senior leadership, supporting the development of individuals who now help shape the industry.
What drives me is finding practical ways to resolve difficult situations, helping clients see a way forward, and delivering solutions they may not have thought possible. Outside of work, you’ll often find me on the sidelines supporting my sons’ rugby journeys or enjoying time with family and friends.
