About
I am a Partner within the Social Housing sector, covering external audit, internal audit, risk management, regulatory compliance, and consultancy. Working across a variety of service lines allows me to develop a deep understanding of my clients and use this insight to help them navigate the challenges ahead.
My clients are primarily social housing providers, ranging from some of the largest in the country to smaller, community-focused organisations. I also work with a broad spectrum of charities, including those focused on equality, homelessness, and care and support services.
With 29 years of experience in the sector, I’m as passionate about the work today as I was on day one. I regularly speak at events such as the National Housing Federation Finance Conference, so if you see me there, feel free to come and say hello.
I began my career at a mid-sized audit firm in Birmingham, which over 12 years grew into one of the UK’s largest audit firms. During my time there, I held a number of leadership roles including UK Head of Social Housing and Birmingham Office Managing Partner.
I joined Beever and Struthers in 2019, who merged with Menzies in 2025. Working alongside such a talented and committed team across all service lines has been a real highlight. Since joining, I’ve been involved in a wide range of projects including governance and regulatory compliance reviews, due diligence for mergers, risk management and fraud awareness training, as well as specialist investigations – alongside my ongoing internal and external audit work.
I’ve always been passionate about promoting equality and diversity in the profession. I’m a current member of the ICAEW’s LGBT group and was honoured to be named in the Out at Work Top 50 Executives in 2016 for my efforts in driving positive change in the workplace – something I remain proud to champion. When I’m not working, I prioritise spending time with family and friends. I’m also learning French — and getting better all the time — and particularly enjoy visiting France whenever I can. Health and fitness are also important to me; I try to get to the gym every day and take a keen interest in nutrition.
I volunteer with local charities in Birmingham that focus on diversity and inclusion, and I’m proud to sit on the Board of a charity that supports refugees and asylum seekers.
