Deal Alert: Menzies advise world-leading firm of environmental design consultants

Our Corporate Finance team have advised Atelier Ten Ltd, considered as one of the worlds’ leading firms of environmental design consultants, lighting and building services engineers, on joining the Surbana Jurong Group, a Singaporean government-owned consultancy company focusing on infrastructure and urban development.

Atelier Ten are a multi-award winning organisation that have advised on some of the worlds’ most iconic building projects including, to name but a few: The Santa Monica Esplanda and Plaza (USA), Jewel Changi Airport (Singapore), All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (Wimbledon) and Google London office (Kings Cross).

Patrick Bellew, Principal at Atelier Ten said: “Joining forces with Surbana Jurong will deepen our expertise and strengthen our commitment to championing sustainability and developing climate change solutions. With the same values, drive and commitment shared by Surbana Jurong, we can now extend our mission for another 30 years, of becoming a global force in the drive towards making the world a more sustainable place.”

Warren McCumiskey, Finance Director at Atelier Ten commented: “Menzies experience and expertise helped guide us through very complex and detailed negotiations. Their insight and ability to hone in on the value added areas was invaluable, to have Menzies on hand to identify key negotiation positions was paramount for us to get the right deal. On behalf of the Board and Shareholders our sincere thanks go out to Kevin Paget, Ross Wiggins and the Menzies Team.”

Led by corporate finance director, Kevin Paget, we advised on all the corporate finance aspects of the transaction, including valuation metrics, negotiation of the offer and terms, deal structure and calculating/negotiating the free cash and net working capital position.
