About
I am a Partner in the Internal Audit team and an education specialist at Menzies LLP. I work closely with my fellow Partners to ensure we follow a consistent methodology across all our offices, delivering a high-quality, friendly service to our national client base.
My approach to internal audit is simple: we should feel like one of your team. Internal audit should be a key support to both executive and non-executive directors in understanding how things are really working “on the ground.” While “critical friend” might sound a bit cliché, it genuinely reflects how I like to work constructively, collaboratively, and with a balance of challenge and support. And sometimes, positive assurance is just as valuable as identifying issues.
My alternative career would be working with animals; my first Saturday job was working in boarding kennels. Today I get my canine fix with my current companion, a retired greyhound. I’m also a keen (if very amateur!) horse rider. I don’t have my own steed, but I attend a local riding school every week and would go more often if time allowed – I definitely need the practice!
I love to travel, especially to far-flung places, and I’m always on the lookout for a great hotel. One thing’s for sure: I’m most definitely not a camping person.
