I am an Manager at Menzies, working in the Tax department, with over 7 years of experience within the firm. I began my career at Menzies as a placement student, working in the Accounts, Audit and Tax departments as part of a rotational placement whilst studying for my Accounting and Finance degree. This allowed me to personally witness the core services that Menzies provided, giving me a first-hand experience of how business operate and the value of the support that we can provide.
Upon the completion of my degree, I was pleased to be able to rejoin Menzies in the Heathrow Audit Team, where I had the opportunity to work with medium and large companies across a diverse range of sectors, whilst working towards becoming a chartered accountant.
In 2021, I transitioned from Audit into the world of Tax and, since then, I have been providing advice to a range of businesses, with a particular focus on the tax implications (and associated structuring) of corporate reconstructions, mergers, acquisitions and disposals. I take joy out of providing shareholders and directors with high quality advice, to help them achieve their business and personal objectives in a tax efficient manner.
My expertise is in the recruitment sector, which often has its own challenges surrounding the succession of the business where the human element of the business can be fundamental to its success and traditional exit opportunities aren’t always available. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how structurally complex people-centric businesses operate and the levels of support they need when faced with specific challenges.
Building and maintaining trust is key to my work and I am always eager to build a good relationship with my clients to truly understanding their goals and objectives. Having worked with a number of businesses over the years, there is frequently a number of personal and business objectives that potentially conflict and I take pride working through the various elements to get to a satisfactory, tax-efficient, result.
Outside of work, I enjoy martial arts, scuba diving and hiking, semi-frequently travelling the globe to explore new environments and enjoy new cultures.
