Caroline Milton | Partner – Audit & Assurance

I am so glad I came back to the fold!

Having trained with Menzies, I left to explore other opportunities.  However, missing the satisfaction of client interaction, I returned and am now a senior Partner in the Firm.

What’s your story at Menzies?

I started Menzies as an AAT trainee, just out of college and very new to the world of work. I remember going home on my first day to tell my parents, how excited I was that I even had my “own desk” – I’m not really sure what I was expecting!   Having completed the AAT qualification, I then went on to ACA, before progressing to Senior Manager.  Having always worked in one Firm, I was keen to explore the wider world and took the decision to try something a little different – the world of insolvency!

Well, I can safely say that the grass isn’t always greener, and whilst I learnt a lot during my time in a corporate restructuring role, I really missed looking after clients and their businesses, being their trusted adviser and helping them grow.  I also missed Menzies people! My partners were keen to understand my need for a change, and therefore on my return, I was able to broaden my experience and boost my personal development.

What’s great about working at Menzies?

I believe at Menzies we have a culture of really listening to staff, taking time to understand an individual’s personal goals and ambitions and thereby ensuring we provide a fulfilling role for them.  We have an excellent team spirit and believe that the support we give allows individuals to maximise their potential and obtain job satisfaction during their time with us.
