Business Activity: Chain of American style diners

Initially, Menzies helped Fatty Arbuckles by raising funds (approximately £1 million) to expand owned outlets from two to four as proof of concept. However, after the success of this initiative Menzies helped Fatty Arbuckles to grow their brand from their original two sites to 60 over a four year period. This was achieved through a mixture of franchised and owned outlets (broadly, 60% were franchised).

To aid with the company's rapid growth, Menzies ran full service accounting support to franchisees if required, and created an advertising and buying vehicle for wet/dry products.

Eventually, Menzies helped Fatty Arbuckles sell the concept to the Alchemy Group (a venture capital fund).

Business Activity: Vending and box sales of Cadbury's products into offices/factories

Through providing strategic advice to Snack in the Box, Menzies helped them grow their franchise distribution to approximately 100 franchisees. This significantly increased the profit from a management buy-out from the original owner 4 years previously.

After this success, the company was sold to Snack Time Plc.

Business Activity: Property letting and sales with a guaranteed rental product

Menzies helped Northwood Lettings grow their franchise concept from single figure units to over 70 franchisees. Northwood Lettings key USPs were their Platinum Scheme Concept, and a multi-purpose accounting/property letting platform tested by Menzies to help run the business.

Currently Menzies provides full support (accounts, payroll, tax, etc.) to over 40 franchisees.
